"ALL ABOARD THE TITANIC!

Norway stunned the rock world when it launched Titanic, of the hottest bands of the early Seventies. They were hugely successfully with their big hit ‘Sultana’ and now they’re back in 2009 with a brand new Repertoire album ‘Ashes & Diamonds’."

TITANICrock history's  famous Norwegians

TITANIC  the first and  definitely the only Norwegian rock group at that time to become known worldwide. The band was founded 1969 and consisted of Janne Loseth (guitarist and vocals), Kiell (Chappy) Asperud (percussion and vocals), Kenny Ass (organ) and John Lork (drums). the particularity was  that TITANIC did not have a bassist. Kenny played the bass  with his feet on the pedals of his organ.

The English singer Roy Robinson with his unique rock blues and folk inspired voice, gave the band an international appeal. Roy wrote most of the lyrics.

In the early 70’s TITANIC was listed in the charts and toured around the world. Their best known hits were «Santa Fe», «Macumba», «Sultana» and  also the rock ballad «Eagle Rock» and «I see no reason». In 1984 at the summit of their career TITANIC performed their last concert in Chile at the «Vina del Mar» festival in front of 80.000 fans and a  television audience of 400.000.000... Live all over South America.

2005 Roy received a phone call from Janne Loseth,

who invited him to Geneva to talk about possibly reviving Titanic.

And so in 2008, with the English bassist Mick Walker, the Australian saxophonist Phil Wilton and the Swiss drummer Didier Blum the new album «Ashes and Diamonds» was produced.

December 2009, two new members joined TITANIC on Bass and Organ
